Material & Finish Options for Mining Fasteners
Mining fasteners are engineered for durability, vibration resistance, and long-term stability in harsh environments such as open-pit operations, underground shafts, and heavy machinery installations.
Materials commonly include carbon steel for structural anchoring and alloy steel for high-tensile load applications in crushers, conveyors, and equipment mounts. Stainless steel may be used in areas exposed to extreme humidity or chemical processing zones.
For protective finishes, Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) is the most widely used treatment in mining applications to prevent corrosion from moisture, chemical exposure, and abrasive dust. Other options such as zinc plating, mechanical galvanizing, or DACROMET are selected based on site conditions and required resistance levels. Where conductivity or anti-tamper protection is important, black oxide or uncoated raw steel may be specified.
